OUR NEW ZEALAND GRAND PRIORY

NZ Grand Priory's - Mission Statement

The Mission of the New Zealand Grand Priory of the Order of Saint Lazarus is to continued in the cause of Hospitaller activities, as was one of the original purposes of the Order. Hospitaller projects that are prevalent in the New Zealand Grand Priory are related to those diseases that are most prevalent in a sub-tropical climate. Oceania has many of the otherwise "cured" diseases still prevalent in the Pacific. We have made this our goal, to eradicate these maladies from our part of the world. Some of our projects in the past have been awareness about skin cancer in our corner of the world. Skin cancer is extremely high in New Zealand, as compared to other parts of the planet. The directness of the sun is stronger here. However, our past projects in this area seemed to have met their purpose, so now we are involved in the following projects:

I. To Continue to Teach About Leprosy, through knowledge and early detection:

One of the Missions of the New Zealand Order of St. Lazarus is to Disseminate Information About Leprosy in the West Pacific Area, and to aid those who are treating lepers through financial arrangements.

It is our hope that people will read these articles and learn from them. The New Zealand Order has donated money for equipment and care in the various leper hospitals in the Pacific for years.

II. To Help Those in Need:

III. To Set An Example of Chivalry:
